1. Cap of $5,000 per family
2. Main target: Elderly with limited financial resources, i.e. isolated, not receiving support from children

Criteria for RoH community members:

1. Community members who have regularly attended RoH’s community events
2. Individuals / families with limited community / family support
3. Has a senior in each of these households

Name: Mr Chin Joo Khim

Brief background: Mr Chin, 67, lives with his wife, Shi ying (61) and grandson (12). They are managing on Shi ying’s income as a cleaner. This is insufficient for them as both Shi Ying and their grandson are LTVP holders, and not eligible for most types of social assistance. Mr Chin recently suffered 3 fractures to his spine when he fell at home. He was trying to save costs by replacing a lightbulb himself, instead of paying someone to do it for him. Since the accident, he is unable to walk for long distances or even sit up for many hours. They are ineligible for social assistance.
