Recently, our case workers met Billal for his first disbursement. We understand from him that he is appealing against the compensation amount as advised by his lawyer. He understands that the appeal process can be gruelling and painful without an income in the meantime. Nonetheless, he wishes to fight for what he is entitled to. Billal had left a deep impression on us, being more reserved than the rest of the migrant workers whom we had met previously. He has come a long way in his recovery process, yet the journey remains daunting when he does not know if he will ever get well. Nonetheless, he is deeply appreciative when he received his first disbursement and thanked us profusely! We understand from him that he will be flying home this week, hence the undisbursed amount from his campaign will be remitted to him each month. We would like to wish him all the very best!
