Mdm Chua is one of the 31 identified recipients of the campaign. Ray of Hope has raised $200 for her family and recently met her for her cheque disbursement. The elderly told us that she was not expecting to receive additional funds for the festive season. When the case workers visited Mdm Chua and her son at their new 2-room rental flat, the house was sparsely furnished as they were rushing to move in before New Year. Mdm Chua, who goes for dialysis thrice a week, currently only relies on her son’s income as a cleaner to make ends meet. She also told us that it has always been their wish to have better living conditions as their previous flat was more than 30 years old. Their new flat is also a stone away from the workplace of Mdm Chua’s son, which means that he can now save on his transport expenses. Mdm Chua and her son are grateful for the funds raised for New Year, and send their regards to the donors who have helped them during this period.
