In the 4th quarter of 2023, there will be significant healthcare policies changes to how cancer treatment will be subsidized.
One of the implications of this policy shift is that there will be patients who may have to change their course of treatment since their existing drugs are
no longer subsidised by the government. Their out of pocket expenses will increase significantly if they continue on the same cancer drug.
In anticipation of this policy change, Ray of Hope is starting a Patient Care Fund so we can support these patients who are affected. The aim of the fund
is to help patients maintain the same out of pocket expenses after the policy shift. This way patients can continue their existing treatments and have the
same level of patient care.
We believe these patients have fallen through the cracks of our government’s safety nets, and hope to seek like-minded donors who can donate to this
fund and help these patients have the same level of cancer care.
We will identify these patients and apply strict means testing to determine their financial eligibility for these subsidies before disbursing the funds. They
will also need a doctor’s recommendation and approval to be eligible for the fund.
