FAQs
- For GIC employees based in SPO only.
- Only cash donation receipts issued for campaigns listed on the Ray Of Hope microsite will be eligible for reimbursement on Concur.
- GIC employees will need to make a minimum donation of SGD300 to a single campaign, to be eligible for reimbursement of SGD250 (i.e. employees are required to contribute at least SGD50 out of your own pocket).
- Reimbursements for cash donations can only be made in SGD250 denominations.
- Please ensure that you have not utilised your individual volunteering grant, in part or in full, before the donation is made and submitted for reimbursement (i.e. if you had previously claimed SGD50 of your individual volunteering grant and have a balance of SGD200, you will not be eligible to utilise the remainder SGD200 cash donation for any campaign on Ray of Hope). You can still use the remainder funds for other projects by our pre-approved list of community partners.

Frequently Asked Questions
I have utilised my individual volunteering allowance partially for this FY. Can I donate
a minimum of SGD300 and be reimbursed the balance of my allowance?
No. As this is a pilot programme, the process is currently streamlined to only allow one-off SGD250
claims on Concur for cash donation receipts.
If you have partially or fully utilised your individual volunteering allowance, you will not be able to
claim any balance as reimbursement for your cash donation on Ray Of Hope.
Can I donate to several fundraising campaigns to make the minimum donation amount of SGD300 and be reimbursed SGD250?
No. As this is a pilot programme, the process is currently streamlined to only allow one-off SGD250
claims on Concur for cash donations to a single campaign per receipt.
This will allow GIC to better track impact on campaigns donated to.
Example:
- If you select four different fundraising campaigns, donating less than SGD300 to each, you will not be eligible for a SGD 250 reimbursement, even if the total donation amount for the four campaigns add up to more than SGD300.
- If you select two different fundraising campaigns; donating more than SGD300 to either one, you may be eligible for a SGD 250 reimbursement.
I would like to donate to another campaign on Ray Of Hope’s website, but its not listed
on the microsite for GIC. Can I be reimbursed SGD250 for my donation to this campaign?
Only campaigns shortlisted on GIC’s microsite are eligible for the SGD250 reimbursement by GIC under the
individual volunteering allowance. This is because GIC has worked with ROH to pre-screen the community partners based on our governance criteria.
Please make sure to check that you are on the GIC x Ray Of Hope microsite when browsing campaigns to
donate to.
I made a donation to a non-shortlisted campaign on Ray Of Hope’s website by mistake, and
would like to get a refund to channel my donation to an eligible campaign so I can claim a reimbursement
of SGD250 from GIC.
GICians are advised to only donate to GIC eligible campaigns that are shortlisted on the microsite, and
verify all necessary details before making their donations.
Completed donations are strictly non-refundable.
If you find yourself logged out of the microsite when exploring other pages on Ray Of Hope’s main website, please make sure to login again via the GIC Social Impact Microsite before making a donation.
I chose the wrong campaign to donate to. Can I request for a refund?
All donations made are strictly non-refundable.
You are encouraged to make a separate donation to support the campaign of choice. Please ensure that you
have not partially or fully utilised your individual volunteering allowance, as you will not be able to
claim any balance as reimbursement for your cash donation on Ray Of Hope otherwise.
What happens to the excess funds when the campaign exceeds its fundraising targets?
In the event that the total donations received for a fundraising campaign exceeds the target / what is
required, Ray Of Hope will redirect excess funds to other fundraising campaigns at its own discretion.
What happens when the funds cannot be disbursed to the beneficiary or intended
recipients of the fundraising campaign?
If the beneficiary or intended recipient of the fundraising campaign is uncontactable within a
reasonable period of time, all donated funds will be disbursed to other fundraising campaigns at Ray Of
Hope’s own discretion.
If the beneficiary or intended recipient gets in touch after the funds have been redirected to another
fundraising campaign at Ray Of Hope’s discretion, the funds will be deemed disbursed in accordance to
its intended purpose, and no additional funds will be disbursed to the beneficiary or recipient.
