Mdm Meredith*, 45 years old, is a single mother and the main caretaker of her daughter, 10 years old, who suffers from dyslexia. This is her second fundraiser. When we first met Mdm Meredith, she was staying at a transitional shelter and we assisted her and her daughter with living expenses for 3 months. Things were initially going well for Mdm Meredith. She was discharged from the transitional shelter and was staying at an open market room rental with her daughter. She also found employment and things were looking positive for her and her daughter.
However, at the beginning of May this year, Mdm Meredith lost her job and her tenancy for the rental room was not extended. Out of job and with very little money, Mdm Meredith and her daughter are currently homeless. As a Permanent Resident, they struggle to find a roof over their heads and they are currently moving from one hostel to another.
Help Needed – Give Hope
Ray of Hope would like to raise S$1,800 (S$600 x 3 months) so that Mdm Meredith is able to find a rental room for her to stay with her daughter. She is also seeking to straighten her employment situation and urgently requires a stable roof over their head. Please give hope to Mdm Meredith and her daughter tide over this very difficult period.
*Name has been changed to protect the identity of Mdm Meredith as she continues to resiliently care for her daughter
