Second fundraiser for a helpless caregiver (FULLY RAISED)Campaign started on 2019-06-07
Raised of S$1,600.00
0Days to go
Ray of Hope has previously assisted Shawn with his living expenses and raised S$1,600 as he is medically for work. The case workers caught up with him on his final disbursement and were informed that his current doctor’s certification has certified that he is still unfit for work until 3rd August 2019. This worries Shawn deeply, especially with the assistance from SSO still in the process of being renewed. On the visit, we also met his father and understand that he has not been well for the past few months.
Despite taking more than 20 types of medications each day, Shawn told us that he wishes to work to support himself. However, he is unable to do so as the dosage for his medication gets increased on each doctor’s visit. With the doctor certifying him to be unfit for employment, he will not be able to get employment anywhere. This leaves him extremely helpless, especially when his elderly father even when he has a host of medical issues himself, including severe depression and schizophrenia among other medical conditions.
Shawn is currently awaiting his SSO assistance renewal. In the meantime, ROH would like to raise $1,600 ($400 x 4 months) to defray the living expenses for Shawn who is the main caregiver to his elderly dad while he awaits the renewal of his SSO assistance.
