Alice was the sole provider for her family of three. After the separation with her ex-spouse in 2012, she has been single handedly raising her two children. The single mother was working as a sales promoter for three years before she left due a sudden change in work arrangement. The family is now dependent on her son’s National Service allowance to get by.

Ray of Hope is raising $2,152 ($538 x 4 months) to support Alice’s family with groceries ($400 per month) and rent ($138 per month), while she seeks full-time employment.

56-year-old Alice was previously working as a sales promoter earning roughly $1,600 per month. After working there for three years, she was told to relocate to a location further away from her house due to a reorganisation in her workplace. 

Alice mentioned that she often has fainting spells while she travels to work. Hence, the additional travelling time may aggravate her fainting spell. Alice hopes to secure new employment soon as her son’s NS allowance is barely enough to cover the family’s living expenses. The single mother has cut out a lot of the family’s expenses and is thrifty with their spending.
