I was coerced blackmailed forced by am inspired to be part of Ray of Hope’s 10th Anniversary! Given that my birthday is on 7 July, and to celebrate with Ray of Hope and support their awesome work, I have pledged to cycle 77km in one day to raise $7000. So friends, please don’t be too shocked. It is true. I, Martin Tan, will (finally) be torturing myself exercising for a good cause!
You can watch me suffer or save me:
-
$97 or more: I’ll cycle 77km in 1 day
-
$77: I believe I have a great group of friends who would like to preserve my life and save me from doing the other.. or so I hope.
Depending on which amount was donated the most, I would have no choice but to gracefully accept my fate. Results will be announced on 6th July, and the 77km will begin on the 7th. Donations raised for both options will go towards the fundraising target of $7000 and hopefully beyond.
What I do at the end of the campaign is all on you. I beg you to reach into the nooks and crannies of your hearts and choose kindness towards my family and me. Personally, I would much rather you donate $77. That way you are essentially saving my poor family and me from my incessant whining about how much potential pain I would be in (Thanks in advance!)
Where would the $7000 go?
Over the last decade, Ray of Hope has taken an honest look at the challenges of the community. They are constantly finding ways to journey with their clients until they find their footing again. They have worked tirelessly to support families through financial means, case management and verification and community outreach programs. However, upholding these intentions requires a great deal of financial support. The funds raised will go towards Ray of Hope’s community outreach and casework programme. This work is resource-intensive and requires attention to detail and dedication from their case managers and the organisation as a whole.
