However, Mdm Ashafyni shared that her husband was recently incarcerated due to alleged involvement with drugs. Ray of Hope is raising $2,200 ($550 x 4 months) to help Mdm Ashafyni with her family’s living expenses while she explores short-term plans with her Social Worker.
Mdm Ashafyni is a mother to three school-going children. The family relies greatly on her husband’s income to get by. He was previously working as a food delivery rider but decided to switch careers recently to earn a stable income for the family. His last employment was as a full-time cleaner, bringing home $1,300 a month. Mdm Ashafyni is unable to work full-time due to her caregiving duties.
To supplement the household income, Mdm Ashafyni opened up her own online business selling clothes and home baked cookies. However, she shared that business has not been doing well and returns have been very marginal.
Due to drug related offenses, Mdm Ashafyni’s husband was recently incarcerated. As the family was reliant on her husband’s income to survive, Mdm Ashafyni has shared her concerns regarding her family’s livelihood when her husband is away. The uncertainty of her husband sustaining his employment while he is away has been causing her a lot of worries as well. The likelihood of him being able to continue working in the same company after his release is low. Despite having multiple stressors, the mother of three hopes to stay strong for her children.
