How can you help?
Mohinder’s inability to work further frustrates him and leads him to see himself as an incompetent and bad father who has lost 2 children, and is unable to care for the remaining two. While determined to rebuild his life, Mohinder needs time to recover.
Help him afford an IMDA laptop ($220) for his son, and support his recovery ($540 monthly) by easing his financial burden. This will create space for him to consider next steps for himself and his children.

The guilt of his absence in his children’s lives hits Mohinder hard.
Since his wife’s passing and prior to moving into his current rental flat, Mohinder spent almost two years homeless and destitute. Now, with the help of social services, he has a roof over his head. The father of two aspires to build a better future for his children and to be a role model for them.
“I want to be there for my two children and I long to be reunited with them.” Mohinder fell silent as he recalled his painful ordeal of losing his wife and two younger children overnight.
While Mohinder receives some assistance from the Social Service Office (SSO), he sends more than half of what he receives to his children, who are currently residing with their maternal grandparents in Indonesia, for their daily expenses. He looks forward to the day where he is once again capable of holding a full time job that would allow him to reunite with his children and meet their needs.
*Mohinder is receiving social assistance that ends in September 2023.
