What is the Singapore LSE Trust?
The Trust was launched in 2004 to help Singaporeans who demonstrate “all-round excellence” but face financial difficulties pursue their dream of studying at the LSE. The Trust is an Institute of Public Character (IPC) approved by the Commissioner of Charities.
The Trust believes in education as the greatest social leveler. By enabling deserving Singaporeans to study at LSE, we do our part to keep the school’s world-class education open to the less economically privileged.
Over the last decade, the Trust has awarded 1-3Undergraduate Scholarship Awards each year and has established the Saw Swee Hock Financial Assistance Fund for Singaporean LSE students in financial need. For more details on the Trust, see https://lsesingapore.org/about-the-singapore-lse-trust/
All funds raised by the Trust’s 20th anniversary campaign will go towards Undergraduate Scholarship Awards.
The Singapore LSE Trust is an Institution of Public Character (IPC), which means that all donations to the Trust by Singaporean taxpayers enjoy a tax deduction of 2.5x times the donated amount. The Trust will report your donation directly to IRAS and additionally issue a donation receipt at the end of each tax year for your convenience.
On top of this, the first SGD 250,000 of our campaign were matched dollar-for-dollar by the Tote Board’s Enhanced Fundraising Scheme. As we have reached the Tote Board’s dollar-matching cap in early September, any donations after that date will no longer be dollar-matched.
