The Lai Yu Hua Kindness Youth Lit Fund (赖育华爱心青年基金)

At the foot of a rental block in Boon Lay, there’s a special place where hope takes root. The Tak Takut Kids Club (TTKC) stands as a beacon of possibility for children who need it most. Through the newly established Lai Yu Hua Kindness Youth Lit Fund, there’s now a safe community space for children to explore, learn and grow. 

As noted by Lin Shiyun, founder of 3Pumpkins: “Children from vulnerable backgrounds often come from families where relationships are disrupted, and caregivers are in different phases of finding stability.”

Children from low-income families face these hurdles more often, yet typical school support doesn’t fully address their needs. The Lai Yu Hua Kindness Youth Lit Fund will provide personalised therapies that fill this gap and give these children the tools to thrive.

This is a new initiative seeded by Laurence Putra Franslay and supported by 3Pumpkins. With the involvement of Singapore’s Voices of Loving Kindness (VoLK)— Dr. Geraldine Tan, Dr. Alicia Altorfer-Ong, and Laurence, in the pilot phase, this fund will make a big impact on children in Boon Lay facing learning challenges like dyslexia and ADHD.
