For families already walking a fine line, a retrenchment notice can unravel stability overnight.
When one income stops, it isn’t just bills that go unpaid. It is plans put on hold, meals stretched thinner, and confidence is shaken in ways that numbers alone can’t capture.

In Singapore, we often talk about resilience. But even the most resilient among us need room to recover.

Because when the loss of one job threatens the security of an entire household, resilience begins with having a safety net to fall back on.

The Next Chapter Hope Circle (NCHC) was created to offer that safety net — a bridge between uncertainty and rebuilding. 

It provides short-term financial support for low-income individuals and families affected by retrenchment, and whose needs cannot be met by any government support scheme, helping them afford essentials such as rent, utilities, and daily expenses while they seek new employment.

Eligibility criteria may include:

• Individuals who are the sole breadwinner in the household and have been recently retrenched
• Households with no or limited access to existing government support schemes
• Families assessed to be in urgent need of assistance due to their financial and caregiving circumstances

Through NCHC, we hope to support at least eight families for four to six months each. These funds provide breathing room to recover, regroup, and take the next step forward with dignity.

What is a Hope Circle?

A Hope Circle is a pooled, perpetual giving fund for a specific need. When an individual campaign falls short of its crowdfunding goal — or when an emergency arises before help can reach in time — the Circle steps in to bridge the gap.

For those affected by retrenchment, it means they can continue meeting essential needs while they rebuild stability and confidence.

Through the Next Chapter Hope Circle, we’ll be raising a total of S$80,000, which includes an additional 10% uplift added to ensure our case team can properly verify and follow up on each case. This structure allows us to act quickly while keeping every donation accountable and transparent.

In moments of transition, it’s not just about finding another job.
It’s about regaining hope, identity, and the confidence to begin again.
