Be the first to donate to 2025: Empowering Women Hope Circle

Some women are forced to start again from nothing. This journey can include retraining for new jobs, caring for children alone, or finding ways to survive with no safety net to fall back on. For widows, single mothers, or survivors of violence, the pressure to provide without support can be crushing.

A woman’s identity is often tied to her role as caregiver, provider, or both. When that balance is shaken, it’s not just financial stability that is lost, but also a sense of self and security.

The Empowering Women Hope Circle (EWHC) was created to ease this weight. What began as a gift from the Raffles Girls’ School Class of 1991 has grown into a perpetual fund that has already helped our clients rebuild their lives with dignity. Today, it continues to provide a lifeline for women in their hardest moments.

The Women We Stand For

Zi Xuan
Zi Xuan’s world collapsed when her husband walked out, leaving her with their two young sons, ages 6 and 1. Alongside the emotional shock, she inherited his debts and the full weight of raising her children alone. For Zi Xuan, her boys are her world and she keeps pushing forward to hold her family together.

Mira
Mira’s love for her children keeps her going, even as three out of four struggle with chronic respiratory conditions. 6-year-old Ida has faced 6 lung collapses in the past year, while her eldest awaits surgery for sleep apnea. Mira has exhausted her leave and now faces unpaid time off to care for them.

Fina
Between raising 3 children and caring for 2 elderly grandparents, Fina has learnt to carry many roles at once. When her grandmother’s hospitalisation forced her to pause a new job opportunity, Fina turned her focus to baking, something she has always loved. What began as a way to care for her family has become her dream of building a business on her own. With our support, Fina managed to complete her Food Safety Course — the first step towards financial independence and fulfilling her aspirations.

What is a Hope Circle?

A Hope Circle is a pooled, perpetual giving fund for a specific need. When an individual campaign falls short of its crowdfunding goal, or when emergencies arise, the Circle is used to bridge the gap. For women, this means having the chance to rebuild their lives, provide for their families, and pursue stability with dignity.

Through the Empowering Women Hope Circle, S$100,000 will go directly to these women, with a 10% uplift added to ensure our case team can properly verify and follow up on any top-ups from the Circle. This balance means we can act quickly while keeping every donation accountable and transparent.

Who We Serve

Ray of Hope serves anyone who works, studies or lives in Singapore regardless of nationality and citizenship status:

đźź  Primary Group: Singaporeans from low-income families facing sudden hardship such as illness, injury and sudden unemployment, or caregiving responsibilities.

đźź  Extended Support: Vulnerable groups living within our community who face unique barriers to traditional aid, such as migrant brothers, stateless individuals, and foreign spouses/children in crisis.

Our 3 Pillars

đźź  Crowdfunding:
Campaigns that provide financial assistance to families and individuals in crisis, as well as community-based campaigns that align with Community Impact’s focus on emerging and unmet needs.

đźź  Casework:
Every campaign whether for an individual or a community initiative is verified by our case or partnerships team, respectively. Ensuring accountability and dignity at every stage.

đźź  Community Building:
Working alongside corporates, NGOs, ground-up groups and government agencies to mobilise resources, co-design initiatives, and extend help to groups excluded from conventional support. These partnerships allow us to amplify impact and address gaps more holistically.

Amplifying Impact

Funds raised through this campaign will be matched by Tote Board’s Enhanced Fundraising Scheme (EFR), which will amplify the impact of your contribution. The matched funds will enable Ray of Hope to continue verifying and supporting cases, ensuring that every campaign on our platform is genuine. This is what makes it possible for donations to reach those who need it most.

Ray of Hope does not replace existing aid. Instead, we step in to bridge urgent gaps where conventional systems may fall short. We work closely with social service agencies and government partners so our efforts complement, rather than duplicate, existing schemes.

Your gift, no matter the size, has the power to transform someone’s future. Together, we can build a community where every woman has the means to regain not only stability, but also the confidence to step forward again.

Be the change. Give Hope Today.
