Help Andrei Stay in Polytechnic — Fees Due 16 March
A Young Man Determined to Keep Learning
Andrei, 24, is currently pursuing his diploma at a local polytechnic. He hopes to complete his studies and eventually progress towards a degree so that he can secure stable employment and support his family.
Originally from the Philippines, Andrei moved to Singapore in 2009 with his mother and older sister. Today, he lives with his mother and two younger siblings in a one-room rental flat.
The family’s circumstances changed significantly after the passing of his stepfather last year, who had been their only steady source of income. Since June 2025, the household has had no stable earnings. Andrei’s mother, who has thyroid and liver conditions, has been medically unfit for work and requires ongoing follow-ups. With no extended family support, the financial strain has been overwhelming.
Doing What He Can
Despite these challenges, Andrei remains committed to his studies. He continues attending classes and is doing his best to stay on track academically.
At home, the family keeps expenses to a minimum. They cook simple meals, stretch their groceries, and carefully manage daily spending. Andrei has explored available assistance and financial options, but the outstanding tuition fee remains beyond what the family can manage.
His tuition for this semester amounts to $4,949.99 and is due on 16th March 2026. Without payment, Andrei will not be able to register for the next term and may have to pause his education.
“I don’t want to stop halfway,” he shares quietly. “I just want to finish what I started and be able to support my family.”
Looking ahead, the family is actively applying to other organisations and exploring financial assistance options to support Andrei’s upcoming semester fees, which will be due in mid-July 2026.
How Your Support Helps
We are raising $5,039.10* to cover Andrei’s outstanding tuition fees for the current semester.
Your contribution will go directly towards clearing this immediate payment so that Andrei can remain enrolled and continue progressing in his diploma programme.
Completing his diploma will give Andrei a stronger foundation to seek stable employment and eventually ease the financial burden at home. For his younger siblings, it also means having an older brother who can continue to be a steady source of support and encouragement.
Every contribution, regardless of amount, brings him closer to staying in school.
