Ganesh Kumar is the founder of WBG and has used his own funds to support the WBG project and its activities for the last 4 years. He is a Nature enthusiast who loves protecting Nature and using natural spaces to bring the community together. He is also interested in the biophilia approach where Nature and humans can interact to bring about mental wellness and support.

About Woodlands Botanical Garden

Woodlands Botanical Garden (WBG) is a ground-up initiative started in July 2020 by Mr Ganesh Kumar during the COVID episode. What started as a project to bring him comfort from the loss of his mum slowly turned into an effort to bring joy to his community, and the WBG now stands as a testament to Nature and her ability to bring peace to both the individual and community as a whole. With its two pillars of biodiversity and mental wellness, WBG aims to provide a safe space for Nature to thrive in rapidly and ever-developing Singapore while also serving as a communal space where the ‘kampung spirit’ can show and grow. However with more projects and outreach opportunities, funds are needed to sustain this paradise of Nature to do more for the community and for the garden’s growth and maintenance.
