Giving Hap-pea-ness
Help send a box of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables on a regular basis to needy kidney failure patients. They are The National Kidney Foundation (NKF)’s Grains of Hope beneficiaries, a home intervention programme which provides befriending support via volunteers to those who are socially and emotionally isolated and need the extra help and assistance. Many of these patients do not have the means to purchase fresh produce which are important in helping them maintain a balanced and nutritious renal-friendly diet.
Additionally, the box is weighed and packed by youths with special needs from Heysprouts, a registered social enterprise.
