Help Malini Walk Again
Malini never imagined that her journey home from work would change her life forever.
On the evening of 20 October 2025, Malini — a 38-year-old janitor working in Singapore — was riding her motorbike back to Johor Bahru when tragedy struck. While making a turn, her bike collided with a stationary lorry parked on the roadside. The impact flung her off the bike, and in an instant, her left leg was severed.
She was rushed to the hospital with devastating injuries — multiple rib fractures, deep lacerations, and an amputated leg. Since then, Malini has undergone multiple surgeries and faces one more critical operation to repair her right foot. This procedure is essential for her rehabilitation — to reduce chronic pain, stabilise her remaining foot, and give her the best chance of regaining mobility and independence.
Malini was the sole breadwinner for her family — supporting her ageing parents, her homekeeper sister (who is a single mother), and her three-year-old nephew. Her monthly income of $2,000 kept the household afloat. Now, as she lies in the hospital facing many months of recovery, she has no income, no savings, and an uncertain future.
Despite everything, Malini remains resilient. She dreams of being able to walk again, to return home and care for her loved ones. But she cannot do it alone.
Your contribution can give Malini the stability and time she needs to heal — covering her lost income and supporting her family for the next year as she undergoes treatment and rehabilitation.
We hope to raise $24,000 — the equivalent of 12 months of her salary — to help Malini rebuild her life with dignity.
