Ray of Hope is raising $21,581.90*  to help Mr Goh with his home renovation cost so that the flat can be restored to a liveable condition. The cost will cover renovation works for the following:

1. Site preparation, i.e. demolition, removal and haulage
2. General Services
3. Plumbing Works
4. Painting Works
5. Doors Works
6. Electrical Works
7. Internet/SCV/Communication 
8. Lighting Works
9. Carpentry Works
10. Miscellaneous Works
11. Post-renovation cleaning and maintenance

*The estimated cost of renovation is $28,000, and the vendor has given a goodwill discount of $6,418.10. Payment will be made directly to the vendor.

On September 6, a fire broke out in the living room of a 3-room flat in Bedok North. Mr Goh was at the void deck in the wake of his 75 year-old mother who had just passed away, and when he went up to the flat after he was alerted, the flames had already engulfed his home. Everything  was lost in the fire. 

The 53 year-old has been living in the flat with his elderly mother since his father passed away in 2002.
Overnight, he was hit by the sudden crisis that caused him to lose his accommodation. The fire left Mr Goh without a roof overnight and he is now lodged in temporary housing. Unfortunately, the house was not insured and he would have to bear the full cost of the restoration. 

“I had no issues supporting myself financially. But the fire has left me helpless and I hope that the community can help me so that I can move on.” shared Mr Goh who works as a Receiving Officer.

Mr Goh turned to crowdfunding in the hope of raising funds to undertake essential renovations to restore his home to a liveable condition as he has no savings.
