CAMPAIGN STORY
This season is about being together with the family and to be able to look forward to a better year ahead. While many of us have the privilege to celebrate this way, many of the families we support do not have the luxury to do so due to their financial constraints.
Ray of Hope is raising $11,028 for 34 families so they can celebrate with dignity, pride and joy. Let’s not forget that a little goes a long way in giving the families some hope! We believe that every little contribution helps.Â

These are some of the families and individuals you will be supporting this Lunar New Year.
Fion is the primary caregiver to her three children, aged 5, 7 and 17. Her eldest son was diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay (GDD) and attends a special needs school. Fion’s two other children are in primary school and childcare, respectively. Her wages as an administrative staff in a student care centre were sufficient to feed her children. However, the 41-year-old had to stop working after her psychiatrist certified her unfit for employment. Although her husband works as a private hire driver, he does not contribute to the household.
Mr Gan was paralysed from his waist down more than 50 years ago due to an operation on his spine. He requires a wheelchair to move around and uses a urinary catheter. Mr Gan currently lives with his wife of 41 years. They do not have children and strive to be as independent as they can, even with their disabilities and old age. However, although they strive to be as independent as possible, their lives were turned upside down in 2021
when Ah Huay was diagnosed with Stage 4
breast cancer.
Mr Aw is the sole breadwinner of his family of 4. He and his wife have two children, aged 6 and 4. In 2019, the family met with an unforeseen event – his wife was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease. With dialysis to pay for and mouths to feed, his family has been forced to live beyond their means. Despite her diagnosis, his wife has taken on a part-time position at an F&B establishment to ease financial pressures.
Excess funds raised in this campaign will be channelled towards Hongbao for Hope 2024.Â

HOPE & END are always there for everyone! It depends on how we deal with them. A hopeless end or an endless HOPE!
