35-year-old Islam Mofizol is the sole provider to his family of 6. He is supporting his elderly parents, two younger siblings, his wife and 6-year-old son back home in Bangladesh. Islam came to Singapore to work as a general construction worker. In Aug 2021, he lost his balance while climbing a ladder and fell from 3.5m. He woke up feeling sharp pains in his eye and back. As a result of his fall, he is on 4 month MC and temporarily unfit for work.

Ray of Hope is raising $2,080 ($520 x 4 months) to support Islam Mofizol and his family. This will help him with his living expenses in Singapore and allow him to send remittance home to his family.

On 25 August 2021, Islam Mofizol was tasked to climb a ladder but subsequently lost his balance and fell from a height of 3.5m. He was immediately brought to the hospital as he was unconscious from the fall. He woke up three days later in the hospital and had injured his right eye and back. The doctor gave him 4 months of MC and he was temporarily unfit from work. 

Before coming to Singapore, Islam Mofizol had to pay an agent fee of $10,000 and $7,500 when he came into Sinagpore for the first and second time respectively. To pay for his agent fees, he had to take up bank loans and borrow money from relatives. With no means to pay back his loans now, debt collectors have been harassing his family frequently. His two younger siblings and son were also unable to attend school for the past 3 months as the family could not afford their school fees. 

Islam Mofizol shared that the financial pressure is too much for him to bear. Since his accident, he has not been able to send any remittance home.
