Matthew Tan has an evangelistic ministry that is often accompanied by divine healing. As the Lead Minister of JHM Ministries (Jesus Heal Me), Matthew and his team ministers widely around Asia, in cities and remote villages — ministering at healing services, gospel campaigns and training up the local church to minister in the area of healing.

The Gospel and Healing go together and were not separated in Jesus’ ministry. In the Scriptures we can observe that besides talking about the Kingdom of God, a big part of Jesus’ ministry is healing the sick and casting out demons. He uses these as signs pointing to who He is, and to the fact that the Kingdom of God is breaking into this world.

One specific instance in Mark 2:10-11 Jesus shows us that he is able to forgive our sins and he proves it by healing the sick as well. If Jesus can take away his sicknesses, he can also take away our sin!

Healing is also essential in evangelism because that is where the gospel message becomes personal. While God’s love is for everyone, healing shows us that God knows us individually. Testimonies of healing are always personal. As a healing evangelist, I merely stand in awe of what God has done and use it to amplify the gospel message. When I raise Jesus up, he will draw all people to himself.
