Campaign Story

Mdm Hariati, 36 years old, is the main caregiver to her elderly mother with limited mobility and children. She has two children (20 and 17) from her previous marriage, and four (11, 7, 6 and 4) from the current marriage.

The 36-year-old suffers from irregular heartbeat that leads to severe breathlessness at times. Despite her health conditions, the resilient mother continues to support her family by working as a part-time cashier as she does not want her children to rely on social assistance for good. Mdm Hariati’s husband is currently incarcerated and due to be released only in December 2022.

Mdm Hariati shares that she earns around $500 a month, and her salary is insufficient to meet the family’s needs. However, her caregiving duties have also made it challenging for her to seek full-time employment.

Despite her struggles as the sole breadwinner, Mdm Hariati hopes to seek full-time employment to support her family. Ray of Hope wishes to raise $2,500 ($500 x 5 months) for Mdm Hariati for her groceries expenses while she sorts out her employment issues.
