Ray of Hope is raising $9,000 ($750 x 12 months) to support Mdm Koh with 1 year of caregiver fees so that she is looked after.

Mdm Koh, 74, requires palliative care. Diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer and other ailments, she was recently discharged from hospital after undergoing numerous chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. Mdm Koh had also gone through surgery and electrochemotherapy, which left her voice weak and extremely hoarse.

Mdm Koh is a widow and has been living alone in a rental flat for the past 30 years, with little to no support from her family. Her 48-year-old daughter lives in Malaysia, is uncontactable and unemployed. Mdm Koh worked as a cleaner for 10 years and her last job was as a dishwasher. She is unable to afford a caregiver with the assistance that she currently receives.

Mdm Koh suffers from Hypertension, Sclerosis, Bronchiectasis, Anaemia, and Hyperglycaemia. She is often dizzy and breathless as one of her lungs no longer functions. Years ago, Mdm Koh fractured her hip, which greatly affected her mobility and increases her risk of falling. She uses diapers and needs help to move around. She cannot move her neck due to sharp pain. These health issues make it impossible for Mdm Koh to care for herself.

The senior was advised by the doctor to hire a caregiver. With funds to hire a caregiver, Mdm Koh can focus on her road to recovery.
