69-year-old Mdm Rosini suffers from kidney failure and relies on dialysis thrice a week to manage her chronic condition. She was also diagnosed with other various conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure. Mdm Rosini is visually impaired and her mobility is sometimes hindered by her weak legs. 

Ray of Hope is raising $1,800 ($150 x 12 months) to defray Mdm Rosini’s living expenses, for a year.

Mdm Rosini lives in a one-room rental flat with her 70-year-old husband. In 2018, Mdm Rosini was diagnosed with kidney failure and requires dialysis thrice a week. She also suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure and is visually impaired. 

Mdm Rosini’s husband struggles to support the couple alone as a part-time cleaner earning approximately $400 monthly. As her main caregiver, her husband spends his time bringing her to frequent hospital appointments and dialysis sessions. Their children have their own family to care for and are unable to support the couple financially. 

The couple also relies on quarterly payouts of $900 from the Silver Support Scheme to cover their living expenses. They are currently not receiving any social assistance, apart from the subsidies for Mdm Rosini’s dialysis sessions. With the increased cost of living now, the elderly couple finds it difficult to pay for the everyday expenses.
