Left jobless, Miah Milton is unable to support his family back home
Miah Milton came to Singapore in March 2019 to work as a general construction worker, earning a basic salary of $550 every month. After unloading heavy electrical wires from a lorry, he experienced severe back pain and was unable to move around comfortably. Upon visiting the hospital, he was diagnosed with Moderate Spinal Stenosis, a condition which causes pressure in his spinal cord and nerves. Due to his condition, his employer terminated his contract, leaving Miah Milton jobless.
