More than 29,000 people donated $2.9 million to successfully reach Devdan’s campaign target amount in 10 days. It’s been uplifting to see the Singapore community rally together. We are grateful to be the trusted platform to enable this connection between donors and Devdan’s family.

100% of your donations go to Devdan’s Zolgensma treatment. As a crowdfunding charity, Ray of Hope pays for credit card fees not covered by donors to ensure that all donations meant for Devdan reaches him.

Message from Devdan’s family
This has been a pivotal moment for our family. What started as a very fearful and lonely journey has grown into one of gratitude, love and hope. $2.9 million is an astronomical figure to us, an amount that we thought impossible to have access to from the day we were told that this is what it takes to give Devdan a chance at life. We silently carried the feeling of helplessness for over one and a half years, wishing that time would slow down while bracing ourselves for the regression that will only get worse. We could never imagine how many people will come forward to help. From family and friends, to their family and friends, businesses, communities, strangers, people that we will never get a chance to meet and thank in person. We are completely blown away by the level of support, love and generosity that poured in.We are deeply grateful. You have given Devdan a second chance at life. A chance to walk and play with other children outdoors, to experience the world not bounded to a wheelchair or breathing aids. Thank you for being a part of Devdan’s journey.

Zolgensma treatment on the way Ray of Hope paid $2,868,750 directly to NUH on 17 August. The hospital is now working to bring Zolgensma in for Devdan’s treatment. This amount is used for Devdan’s Zolgensma treatment, and does not cover other medication, therapy sessions or other hospital-related fees which Devdan’s family will cover themselves.

We will send another donor update when Devdan starts his treatment. This is expected to be around mid September.

Excess donations Accountability and transparency to our donors is important to Ray of Hope. We do not raise more than what is needed for each campaign. For any remaining amount, we will work with Devdan’s family to channel it to other campaigns on Ray of Hope as Devdan’s family intends to cover the rest of his non-Zolgensma related medical fees. Also, Ray of Hope paid NUH $2,868,750, which is $750 higher than the stated campaign target. This is due to the difference in SGD-USD exchange rate, from the time we started the campaign to the time NUH sent the bill.
