A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN YOU HAVE A HOME

In Singapore, countless families living in HDB rental flats struggle with more than just limited space — they struggle with safety, functionality, and the simple dignity of calling their space a home.

Cramped spaces (some as small as 30 square meters), poor ventilation, and lack of functionality leave families struggling with the basics of daily life. These living conditions create many challenges:

  1. Children lack a proper space to study
  2. Elderly face a higher risk of falls and injuries
  3. Families become isolated from the community

A home should be more than just four walls. It should be a space of pride, comfort, and security, where families can grow, thrive, and rest. But for many, this ideal remains out of reach.

INTRODUCING PROJECT HOMELIFT

This special project is a collaboration between Ray of Hope, the students of Temasek Polytechnic, and the dedicated team at Yishun Family Service @ Children’s Society.

Our goal? To raise $50,000 to renovate HDB rental flats for families to provide them with a safe, functional, and dignified space.

Lecturers and students from Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design visited families to understand their needs and explore furnishing options. Their efforts have contributed to reimagining these small spaces into more functional and comfortable homes.

Now, we need your help to make these renovations possible for eight families like:

These are not just stories. These are real people whose lives you have the power to change.

BREAKING THE CYCLE, ONE HOME AT A TIME

A home is more than just four walls, it’s the foundation on which families build their futures. For families living in cramped, unsafe, and challenging housing conditions, their environment often keeps them trapped in a cycle of hardship. But it doesn’t have to be this way. A safe, well-designed home has the power to unlock new opportunities like better health, a greater chance of success in school and financial stability for the family.

HOME IS WHERE HOPE BEGINS
Every dollar brings us closer to giving families the home they deserve

With your support, we can

  1. Give children their very first study corner & a space to dream bigger.
  2. Provide elderly residents with a safer home free from the dangers of falls.
  3. Restore the pride & joy of families with a space they can truly call home

We have a massive goal of $50K and it will only be possible with your help. Any surplus in campaign funds will go to other families undergoing transition with significant home environment improvement needs.

Every dollar counts. Make a difference today.

This collaboration was sparked by The Majurity Trust (TMT), which, through its place-based philanthropic approach, identified and connected Ray of Hope’s resources to address a gap in the neighbourhood. By linking Ray of Hope with Yishun Family Service @ Children’s Society, TMT has paved the way for meaningful partnerships that uplift the lives of our beneficiaries.
