“Throughout this 3-week journey working in in the F&B industry, I have learnt how to work with others and to not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help. Despite being tired after my shift, I enjoyed the experience and my interactions with the cooks who were very friendly and welcoming to me guiding me throughout my journey. These 3 weeks taught me to manage my time better, planning ahead and to be patient even when times are tough.” – Sara
We implore your support to empower more students like Sara and Janna whose lives were forever changed by their participation in the Respect Work Attachment and Mentoring Program (RWAP) last year.
RWAP beckons secondary year three and four students to embark on a transformative three-week journey immersing themselves in hands-on work exposure under the mentorship of industry professionals and accomplished entrepreneurs from Singapore renowned F&B landscape. Students are learning skills that go beyond textbooks. They engage in a holistic experience that modes their future trajectories and enriches their social fabric. RWAP isn’t merely a program it is a catalyst for growth, fostering invaluable connections and nurturing mental well-being. With a successful pilot program in 2023, which saw 56 students undergo profound transformation through exposure to industry professionals, RWAP has become synonymous with developing key skills such as effective communication, self-awareness, and mental resilience.
Join us in shaping the next generation of citizens and leaders where every experience is a step towards human greatness and pride.
How will the funds be used?
We aspire to provide equal opportunities for all secondary year three and four students in Singapore to join the Respect Work Attachment and Mentoring Program (RWAP), irrespective of their social economic status. This is where we need your help, we are currently donating our existing resources to provide food hygiene certification, leadership training, program coordination, marketing, and training venue. Your donation will help to expand the program to reach more beneficiaries from low-income families and easing the burden on our F&B partners by providing students with allowances. Our mentors are volunteers from F&B operations who have committed over 5,000 hours to date serving our beneficiaries and our work continues to expand, our vision is to impact 1,000 students in 2024. By sponsoring $200 per student from low-income families or providing $300 allowances per student, your donation will go a long way in enabling us to work with more beneficiaries and to continue pushing our mission forward. your donation will help to cover the following costs:
Food Hygiene Certification ($100)
Rental for training venue & leadership workshops ($60)
Marketing and Program Expenses ($40)
Three weeks allowances ($300 per student)
About Respect SG
Respect SG is an industry-led movement initiated by Timbre Group, The Black Hole Group and Team Rise, we strive to change the mindset and uplift the professionalism of the F&B industry in Singapore.
We looked deep into the manpower issues of the services sector and found ourselves asking – have we become a transactional society? We want to reignite the passion, heart, and purpose of service.
We don’t want the approach to be prescriptive. For the movement to be meaningful and results sustainable, respect has to be earned and not demanded. We want to do this inside out. All initiatives will and must contribute to the core idea of promoting mutual respect and instilling pride in our profession and people.
