Stronger families make a stronger community. Happening this December school holiday, ‘Retreat with Hope’ is BACK, bigger and better!  

Retreat With Hope in a nutshell:

Retreat With Hope is a family retreat, organised by Kampung Siglap, that is tailored specially for our clients to have the opportunity for recreation, rest and rejuvenation. The programme promotes family bonding by offering vulnerable families an invaluable opportunity to enjoy a break from daily pressures and financial stress. Importantly, the programme also encourages families to prioritise mental fitness, which strengthens resilience in the face of adversity.  

The RoH families who participated in the pilot retreat had a whale of a time, with one of the kids describing it as, “having the best activities!” From activities such as baking, laser tag, sandcastle-buildings to a relaxing movie night, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the creative programme and interactions.

 Highlights from our June 2023 Retreat: 

Exciting additions to Retreat for Hope 2:

1. New workshops 

Building upon the bonds and shared experiences from Retreat for Hope, this second run will offer recreational activities as well as new skills workshops targeting the parents and youths. The new topics will include mental health and ways to improve family systems, to better equip  our families with skills for a healthy family development.

     2. More families

We believe that good things, like the opportunity to attend Retreat for Hope, should be shared! This campaign’s target goal of $8,400 will enable us to invite between 6-8 families for the December retreat. With your support, our families will be able to spend quality time together and connect with other families, creating a more supportive community around them.

As emphasised in our first campaign (https://rayofhope.sg/campaign/roh-ks/ ), Retreat with Hope aims to not only provide these families with rest and rejuvenation, but also empower them to prioritise their mental health, contributing to their resilience in the face of adversity/ real life challenges.

Kampung Siglap aims to restore hope to displaced individuals and families. As a life skills training and retreat centre with unique intentions, Kampung Siglap connects those who want to help to those that need help, through consistent, meaningful and deeper engagement between their clients and the larger community.

With a strong focus on fostering a sense of belonging and building meaningful connections, Kampung Siglap organises a wide range of activities and initiatives to engage residents of all ages and backgrounds. Kampung Siglap hopes to empower individuals to develop independence and coping skills so that they can achieve sustainable life outcomes.

Ray of Hope provides short-term financial assistance to families and individuals who have fallen in hard times. As Singapore’s first and only crowdfunding charity, we are able to mobilise the community’s resources and support for those who need it.
