Support a Mother Preparing for Her Third Child’s Arrival
Five months pregnant, Mdm Roshahmin is doing her best to prepare for her baby while facing this period largely on her own.
She is a mother of two young daughters and has been working towards a fresh start for her family since her release in February 2025. What she had hoped would be a new beginning has instead brought unexpected challenges.
Her pregnancy has been challenging, requiring frequent hospital visits and close monitoring, which has affected her ability to seek employment and further strained her financial situation.
Without a steady income or savings, even basic needs such as food and transport have become difficult to manage. Despite receiving social assistance that helps with some expenses, it remains insufficient to meet daily living needs, especially with her ongoing medical care.
While navigating her divorce, she is not receiving financial support from her ex-husband and has limited support from her family. For now, she is managing much of this on her own.
Trying to Rebuild for Her Children
Since her release, she has been focused on working towards reunification with her children. Her daughters are currently in foster care, and she is able to spend limited time with them each week as she works towards bringing them home. These moments remain a strong source of motivation for her.
She continues to attend her medical appointments regularly and is doing what she can to prepare for her baby’s arrival.
“I just want to be there for my children,” she shares.
With her due date approaching, the months ahead will be especially demanding as she focuses on her health and her baby.
