We met Mdm Wong recently to disburse the donations to her. Mdm Wong told the case workers that while her life has been fraught with loads of pain and challenges, she is thankful to the Ray of Hope’s donors fpr reaching out to help her. Ray of Hope ran a Hong Bao for Hope campaign and raised more than $10,000 for 30 families and individuals so that they may celebrate CNY with dignity, pride and joy. Mdm Wong was one of the identified recipients of the campaign and we met her recently for her cheque disbursement of $358.60. The donations meant a lot to the elderly since she does not qualify for public assistance. Thank you donors!

We recently visited Mdm Wong for her cheque disbursement and we got to catch up with her. Health wise, she is not doing as well and her tumour still causes pain which affects her day to day living activities. Nonetheless, she is thankful that help was rendered to her family, especially when she does not qualify for any form of public assistance due to her citizenship issues.

She excitedly told us that with the money she was given, she will be able to get some decorations for Chinese New Year and prepare a decent meal.
