“Living a life without a father is hard, but at the same time, I want to teach my kids that Mummy can be Daddy too.”

Ashliza’s story is one of unbreakable strength, a story that shows just how much a mother’s love can withstand. At only 24, she’s raising two young daughters alone, fighting to give them stability amidst a world of uncertainty. She stands as both mother and father, a single hand shaping her family’s future while carrying the weight of her past.

Strength Through Every Challenge

She has always had support from her loving parents and was able to manage raising her children as a single mother. However, her father had recently suffered a stroke and her mother was found to be requiring dialysis. The help she once relied on has faded. Now, the roles are reversed, and it’s Ashliza who’s stepping in to care for her parents, even as she holds her own family together.

Her journey to this moment has been anything but easy. While studying for her diploma in Aerospace Engineering, she brought up her first daughter alone, with every late night and early morning building towards a brighter future for them both.

She dreamed of a supportive partner by her side and thought she had found that when he proposed. But when her husband asked, in the early stages of their marriage, to give up her eldest child from a previous relationship, she chose her child – even if it means that her husband will not acknowledge their child. She knew in her heart that couldn’t abandon her little girls.

Working Toward Stability

Her second daughter was born last year, and while Ashliza tried to manage everything on her own, she found herself separated from her oldest who was cared for by her aunt for a short period of time. Even then, she remained the provider, covering milk and diapers for both children while pouring every bit of energy she had into securing a future for them.

Since graduating this past September, Ashliza has been chasing the stability her family so desperately needs. But with the responsibility of caregiving and the strain of trying to make ends meet, full-time employment isn’t easy to come by. She’s determined to stand on her own two feet, for her daughters and herself, but right now, she needs a hand.

How We Are Supporting Ashliza

Ray of Hope is rallying to support Ashliza with three months of essential groceries, milk, and diapers for her children. Together, we’re aiming to raise $1,740, covering:

– $360 per month for groceries

– $220 per month for milk and diapers

Every contribution is a lifeline, allowing Ashliza to keep her family afloat while she finds the footing she needs. With this support, she can continue to show her daughters the strength of a mother who wears every role without faltering.

Let’s come together to lighten her load, and show her that even in the most challenging times, she isn’t alone. Ashliza is doing everything in her power to give her children a safe, loving home. With our help, we can give her a moment to breathe and remind her that her fight is seen, valued, and supported.
