The Resonance Project: General Fund (Bringing music access to Seniors and Youth across Singapore, advocating for youth volunteerism and community)
Since we began in January 2021 we have provided over 6500 free music lessons to underserved seniors and primary school aged youth across Singapore. The Resonance Project: General Fund (Bringing music access to Seniors and Youth across Singapore, advocating for youth volunteerism and community)
Since we began in January 2021 we have provided over 6500 free music lessons to underserved seniors and primary school aged youth across Singapore. At “Reso” we believe that music is a medium for meaningful connection; enabling us to be role models to the youth we serve and companions/befrienders for our seniors. We firmly believe that family/financial background should not be an obstacle preventing access to music, as such, all our programmes are conducted at no cost to our beneficiaries and charity partners.
Being that our volunteer base consists completely of students between 13-18, advocating for youth service and volunteerism is also a central focus. We are working to build a sustainable model for students to make a meaningful impact on the communities around them. We do this internally by training and equipping our volunteers with the necessary skills and externally through events which promote service and strong communities amongst youth.
This is where we need your help. We purchase most of the instruments used in our programmes, rent venues for training, and require funds for our outreach events. Our student volunteers have committed over 42,000 hours to date serving our beneficiaries, and our work continues to expand. Your donations will go a long way in enabling us to work with more beneficiaries and to continue pushing youth volunteerism forward.
– Purchasing Instruments and Teaching Materials
– Organisational, training, and recruitment expenditure
– External events for outreach
About The Resonance Project
Founded in early 2021 by Elijah Chao and Ivan Chiew, The Resonance Project is a youth-initiated, volunteer-run, collective of youth brought together under a common heart for active service and community.
Reso strives to be a place where students can serve and make change personally, where empathy and selflessness become second nature. We work to bring community to our beneficiaries and to be a community founded on a shared heart for service and music for our members. We hope our work would be an inspiration to youth all over Singapore to build strong communities and serve the people around us.
