The Kans have a daughter, 18, and a son, Jun, who is 20 this year.

Jun has been diagnosed with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy and relies on a wheelchair to get around.

Jun enjoys spending time watching TV or listening to music, but his parents have difficulties bringing him out to the community for events and activities due to his condition.

As a result, he is not usually engaged at home and lacks interaction with others.

Dreams and Aspirations:

• To spend more time bonding as a family by going out for meals together.
• For Jun to be more independent and to be engaged in activities at home.

Needs: 

• $150/month for transportation support to bring Jun for medical check-ups and for outings in the community.
• Jun’s membership for Me Too! Club, a programme by MINDS that enhances the social integration of persons with intellectual disabilities, costing $150/year ($12.50/month).
• Monthly home activities for Jun ($45/month).
• Befrienders to engage Jun at home with activities and games, minimally every month.
