Ray of Hope previously assisted Mdm Nur raised $2,000 for her family. When we met Mdm Nur recently, we were updated that her social assistance has since ended. Unfortunately, Mdm Nur is unable to renew the assistance in view of the current Covid-19 situation. Mdm Nur, who used to work as a full-time private hire driver and part-time nanny has been unable to take on more driving jobs as her husband’s health has deteriorated over the past few months. Now that his MC has been extended for another 6 months, the responsibility of providing for the family falls on Mdm Nur.
“I earned $1,900 a month and it was not enough with 4 children. Now, I only bring home $950”, Mdm Nur told the case workers. With that sharp drop in her income, Mdm Nur is struggling to upkeep the mortgage for their 4-room flat which has increased from $850 to $1,000. The family has also incurred arrears with various agencies for their home mortgage, utilities and town council payments.
Financial Breakdown
Ray of Hope would like to raise $2,400 ($400 x 6 months) to help Mdm Nur’s family tide through this very difficult period. The renewal of Mdm Nur’s assistance is also likely to be delayed due to Covid-19. Please donate to support the sole breadwinner of her family!
*Mdm Nur is currently not receiving social assistance.
