There are many channels for low-income families and charities to secure donations-in-kind from the public, but in most cases, even when there are in-kind donations that meet their needs, the charity or beneficiaries do not have the financial capabilities to arrange for logistics transport. We hope to kickstart a donation-in-kind campaign to rent a van/lorry or to engage a logistics partner to provide this support at a preferential rate. The average logistics service rate is approximately $80 per trip, and up to $100 for bed and bedframe, which is common among donation-in-kind requests.

Stage 1: Piloting – booking ad-hoc logistics services to support the ecosystem (current practice)

Stage 2: Fundraising – if the pilot phase succeeds and there is a clear demand for this service, we will raise a campaign to rent a truck on a monthly basis + hire 1 low-income beneficiary to be the driver, to offer logistics support islandwide for charities and organizations

Stage 3: Expand – as traction grows, we will expand the operation or purchase a vehicle to support islandwide distribution

The funds from this campaign will be for Stage 1, to go towards providing logistics transportation for charities or low income families for the collection of donations-in-kind from donors (i.e. furniture, supplies, donations etc.), expected to last for 6 months.
