Unable to support his family, Hossain is in distress

Hossain came to Singapore in 2008 to work as a Technician. In 2015, Hossain suffered from unexplainable weight loss. His condition worsened in 2022 and on the 4th of August, he was diagnosed with pancreatic liver cancer. After going for surgery on 19 September, Hossain is currently on MC and is unable to work.  

Ray of Hope would like to raise $3,150 ($630 x 5 months) while Hossain recovers from his surgery. 

Hossain, 37, is a Bangladeshi Migrant worker. As a technician, he earns a basic pay of $1000. Hossain is the sole breadwinner to his family as his mother and wife are the main caregivers of his 3 children. When he was still employed, Hossain would remit more than half of his salary to his family in Bangladesh. 

In 2015, Hossain started to have unexplainable weight loss and his condition subsequently worsened in 2022. He spoke to his supervisor who referred him to the hospital and he was diagnosed with pancreatic liver cancer. On the 19th September 2022, Hossain went for his surgery to help remove his tumor which prevented it from growing and spreading. Hossain was given a 1 month MC however the recovery process may take approximately 3-4 months . Now, Hossain is unable to work and support his family.

Sharing with our caseworkers, Hossain is very stressed and worried as he is unable to remit money back home to support his family. He shared that his savings had significantly depleted, leaving him helpless. The father of three hopes to return home soon to be with his family after he recovers.
