Hossen Anwar has been working tirelessly in Singapore as a Construction Worker for the past 13 years to support his wife, 2 sons, mother and sister. Unfortunately in August 2022, things took a turn for the worse when Hossen had a stroke that resulted in reduced function to the right side of his body. 

Ray of Hope is raising $3,650 to support Hossen and his family for the next 5 months ($730 x 5 months). This will help his family with their living expenses as he works towards recovery.

Hossen is from Bangladesh and is married with two children aged 16 and 7. His wife is the main caregiver to his children and elderly mother. Hossen came to Singapore in 2009 in hopes of better job prospects here. As a General Construction Worker, he was earning approximately $980 monthly. He would remit the bulk of his salary to support his family’s living expenses. 

In July 2022, Hossen realised that he was slowly losing function to the right side of his body. After multiple medical assessments, he was subsequently diagnosed with a stroke. He experiences weakness and reduced function to the right side of his body and the doctor has recommended that he requires a caregiver to care for his daily needs. 

With no income to support his medical treatment and his family, Hossen is under immense stress as the family has lost their main source of income.
