Mr Kumar, 36, is currently serving the last part of his sentence at a halfway house.

Prior to his incarceration, he used to work in Delivery and Logistics. He has plans to work again upon his release and will start working part-time in F&B packing once the circuit breaker measures are lifted. He will work here as part of his time at the halfway house. He also plans to take up a fitness course when the courses start at the halfway house. They have been put on hold due to the Covid-19 situation. Mr Kumar wants to work toward becoming a fitness instructor upon his release.

At home, he has a father, who has suffered a stroke and an uncle who suffers from Polio. His sister works part time in childcare to support the family and his brother works odd jobs to help too. Before his father suffered a stroke, he used to run a small shop together with Mr Kumar’s younger brother. They since had to sell the shop as the father is also diagnosed with stage 2 Kidney Failure.

Ray of Hope would like to help Mr Kumar on his journey to redemption. We would like to raise $900 to help Mr Kumar with his living expenses for 3 months ($300 a month) as he awaits the start of his job in F&B.
