41-year-old Shamime is from Bangladesh. He found work here in Singapore as a Lifting Supervisor after paying hefty agent fees. Shamime was earning approximately $900 a month and as the sole breadwinner, he would remit the bulk of his salary to his parents and school-going siblings for their living and educational expenses, keeping around $300 for himself.Â
After the accident, Shamime’s mobility was affected after the accident due to the persistent pain in his lower back and left knee. He hopes to recover by attending weekly physiotherapy sessions offered by an NGO and is determined to support his family once again.
