Thank you for supporting Reso’s work so far. In the span of our first campaign we have provided about 10,000 music lessons. We have also rebranded our events and youth outreach work under “Sonder”. Sonder was launched 6 weeks ago at Victoria Theatre with over 1000 youth across two days. We hope that Sonder’s events will continue to inspire stronger communities for youth and provide a platform for us to advance youth volunteerism. In the coming year, our focus will really be on developing our generation 2 systems and framework. We will invest heavily into our curriculum, teams, and our people to make every session more meaningful and impactful. First off, from all of us here at The Resonance Project, thank you for all the support thus far! We wanted to share a few quick updates on what we’ve been up to over the last few months.

Growing our Impact (breadth)

We’ve been blessed to be able to continue to expand our work with the community at 7 new centres this year, growing our total to 17. Increasingly we’ve noticed more demand for our programmes with at-risk and low income youth. The team has continued to scale to meet this need and we’ve recruited over 155 new team members. We are glad to report that sessions at all of our existing centres have been running smoothly and we have completed our 11000th music lesson.

Growing our Impact (depth)

Equally as important as breadth, we have prioritised increasing the depth and sustainability of our programmes. As a team, we have been undergoing a transition from our generation 1 team concept to our generation 2 system. This has allowed us to more efficiently plan for manpower, define team roles, and develop core programming. Gen 2 also includes a complete overhaul of our curriculum and the development of an area we call C&C, or compassion, connection, and context building. C&C training seeks to shape how our members interact with their clients, better equipping them to connect and support on a deeper level than before.

Ignite #foryouthforgood

On the 1st of July, over 1300 youth joined us for our second external event of the year: Ignite. Held at the amphitheatre at vivocity, Ignite was a call for more youth to “Ignite their sparks” and serve others in the community with their skills and talents. We also had a number of our beneficiaries, both seniors and kids, join us for a night of performances by Reso members and youth musicians.

What’s next?

The team is currently preparing for a packed 4th quarter. There is a lot of demand from new charity partners to expand our work. To continue meeting the needs of the community, we expect to have our largest recruitment intake to date in November of this year. After this intake is completed, we will be on track to open 4-7 more centre locations by the end of Q1 2024. We are also planning the launch of our Resident Bands programme, which will bring music and community to nursing homes and eventually hospitals.
