A Fresh Start for Misha After a Long Year of Caregiving
Misha is a single mother of two school-going children. For nearly nine months, she devoted herself to caring for her own mother, who was bravely fighting stage 3 endometrial cancer. Twice a month, she would accompany her to the hospital, witnessing her mother’s strength wane with each chemotherapy session. Tearfully, she shared about how her mother once cared for her and for her children with such strength and love, only to see her now so vulnerable.
Working Towards A Brighter Future
Today, with her mother in remission, Misha is ready to rebuild her life. She has a plan in place to balance caregiving for her children and returning to work. Even though it has been some time since she has been in the workforce, she is actively seeking employment and taking steps to be self-reliant. Determined to start afresh while staying fully accessible to her two young children, Misha is careful to seek opportunities that would allow her to balance both.
Though Misha has received some support from her ex-spouse and extended family, it is insufficient to cover her household’s needs. While she previously received social assistance, this has lapsed, and she needs help to bridge the gap while she urgently seeks work to support her family on her own.
“My dream is to see my children through their studies; support my daughter in her dream of becoming a policewoman and my son in his dream of becoming a football player one day.”
With your help, we aim to raise $923 per month for three months to help Misha with her living expenses, providing her with a stable foundation as she rebuilds her family’s future. Knowing that the family’s basic needs are covered will allow Misha to focus on seeking suitable employment and re-adjusting to new routines as she juggles multiple roles.
