What happened to Alex?
Alex, 39, lives in a one-room rental flat with his wife and son. His wife, Mdm Wichuta, holds a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) and has been residing in Singapore for the past 8 years.
Due to the family’s financial situation and her caregiving role to their son with special needs, Mdm Wichuta has not been able to return to Thailand to visit her elderly mother. Her mother’s health is ailing as she suffers from diabetes, high blood, retinopathy, and kidney disease. This has brought much distress to Mdm Wichuta, especially with her condition taking a turn for the worse recently. Mdm Whichuta’s mother has not met her 6 year-old grandson before and Mdm Wichuta worries that there would not be a chance for her to do so.
Struggling with depression, Alex has a hard time holding on to consistent employment. Having secured work as a stall assistant just a few weeks ago, Alex feels tremendous stress in providing for his family and is unable to provide for Mdm Wichuta to go back to Thailand for a visit.
How can you help?
Your generosity would fund the round trip airfare for mother and son, allowing Mdm Wichuta the opportunity to reunite with her mother for the first time in 6 years, while allowing grandmother and grandson to meet for the very first time.

Alex has not been able to sustain employment due to his mental health issues in the past 6 months. He was also struggling with other conditions like high blood pressure, numbness in his limbs, drastic weight loss, and insomnia. He is currently on close follow-up at the hospital, in hopes of getting better to continue providing for his wife and son.
The couple’s 6-year-old is hyperactive, and shows symptoms of autism. As their son only attends school at the Early Intervention Programme for Infants & Children (EIPIC) Centre three half days a week, his schooling arrangement has made it difficult for Mdm Wichuta to seek employment due to the limited number of hours she is able to work.
With both husband and wife lacking strong family support systems, it has been a difficult time for both managing both practically and emotionally.
*Alex is not receiving social assistance.
