Therapy Sessions for Vulnerable Children Under Child Protection Services
Campaign started on 03/11/2020Campaign Story
To our RGS Alumnae family and friends:
RGSA is helping to raise funds for Big Love, a kid’s therapy programme by child protection specialist centre Montfort Care.
Big Love was established in 2013 with a clear mission – to empower families with Child Protection concerns with functioning and resilience. Central to Big Love’s philosophy is the provision of child-centric, family-focused and community-based support.
Big Love thrives on a Dare-To-Be-Different approach that helps us to evolve alongside shifting needs and through society’s changing trends. Through it all, we remain committed to be intentional in our approaches to deliver our service to what remains at the heart of our mission: Families and Children.
Therapies are vital components in their intervention work, especially relevant for children who have been through trauma.
As of 2019:
493 children kept safe
1,820 families supported in transitional challenges
22,160 casework and counselling sessions conducted
Your support is needed to provide the children with therapy including:
Art Therapy
Talk Therapy
Play Therapy
Sandplay Therapy, etc
In addition, your support provides a conducive and safe space for children to come to without fear or worries.
The initial amount of funds RGSA is targeting to help raise for this initiative is S$28,800, at the following breakdown:
20 children beneficiaries
12 sessions a child
$120 per session ($1,440 per child)
Total cost: 20 pax x 12 sessions at $120 per therapy session = $28,800
Any amounts collected over and above the initially targeted amount will be gratefully received and applied towards any extension or expansion of the said project or other similar projects and campaigns implemented by Montfort Care.
