Overcoming the stigma of mental illness often takes a lot of courage, and the social stigma attached to mental ill-health and the discrimination that those who experience can make it harder for them to recover.

29-year-old Ebby* suffers from mental health issues, epilepsy, and pain at her lower limbs. She also experiences frequent episodes of stress and anxiety; affecting her daily life. She is now in Singapore on a Special Pass which prohibits her from engaging in any form of employment as she is awaiting the verdict of her court hearing, attributed to her mental health issues.

Although Ebby is currently assisted by a Non-Profit Organisation in terms of her housing and was receiving $500 from a social service agency, the financial assistance has ended in June.

Ray of Hope is raising $2,000 to support Ebby with 4 months of living expenses while she awaits the verdict of her court hearing, which was postponed due to the Covid-19 situation. The outcome of her court hearing will determine the length of her stay in Singapore and the duration of support that she requires.
