Ms U and Mr V are a married couple in their 30s living in a transition shelter. They currently rely on SSO financial support to get by as they are both unable to work due to medical conditions. Ms U has diabetes and diabetic-related conditions such as an abscess that required surgery. She visits the polyclinic daily for her wound dressing and follow up. Mr V is also on treatment for an infectious disease. Due to his low immunity, he falls ill often as is hospitalised on occasion. He is on MC until the end of March this year.

The couple struggles with finances as they are both unable to work. Frequent visits to the clinic and hospital drains the SSO support they receive, which ends at the end of January. They also rely on goodwill donations from a church for their sustenance.
