Ashura is the main caregiver to her younger sister who suffers from cerebral palsy, mental retardation and has previous seizures. The 34 year old divorced mum also has a 11 year old son is staying with her elderly parents. Her mum still works as a cleaner and brings home around $1,100 each month. Ashura’s dad is unfit for work due to his heart issues. Worried about her mum’s ailing health, Ashura hopes to take over the responsibility of providing for her family, but her mum is also struggling to manage as the caregiving duties are starting to take a toll on her health.
Ray fo Hope will be referring Ashura’s sister to a daycare centre while Ashura tries to look for a job. With the Circuit Breaker measures in place, it may take a few months before Ashura is able to get a full-time job.
Ray of Hope would like to raise $2,050 to defray Ashura’s expenses for her sister’s milk and diapers as well as for the family’s groceries expenses for 5 months ($410 x 5 months) while the family works on enrolling her sister for daycare services in order for Ashura to return to the workforce.
