As most of you are already aware, the recent outbreak in our Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home (Thomson) has left us in the face of adversity and it has been a difficult time for us.

As most of you are already aware, the recent outbreak in our Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home (Thomson) has left us in the face of adversity and it has been a difficult time for us.
We will continue to step up on measures to ensure our residents and staff stay protected and healthy, and we appreciate that people have been stepping up in wanting to help us in any way they can – big or small.
While we appreciate all that has been donated, financial assistance will be the most helpful right now. At the moment, MOH has been supplying us with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and we have our own supply of groceries. This is to prevent public hoarding and to ensure we are helping the authorities properly coordinate and allocate resources to other underserved communities as well.
The process of the Lee Ah Mooi Caring Fund aims to ease the burden of affected residents and staff, specifically:
– to assist families in offsetting their nursing fees and expenses during this period
– to assist affected staff who have been on quarantine order and need help with daily living expenses such as food, and their utilities bill
– to pay for services that have been utilized during this difficult period (e.g. deep cleaning, food catering, laundry, biohazard waste management) which would have otherwise been self funded by LAM
– to pay for additional medical supplies such as medical graded hand wash, hand sanitiser and other items to step up our infection control measures during this period
During this extraordinary times, I am touched and heartened by the warmth of Singaporeans and thank you all in advance.
